15 July Migrant at the Beardmore Hotel and Conference Centre in Clydebank. A Congruous & Greet is arranged for 6 p.m. followed by Dinner at 7 p.m.

16 July A leisurely start today with Instructor departing at 9.30 a.m. Visits today include the Falkirk Circle and Linlithgow palace. The Falkirk wheel connects the the Forth & Clyde and Association canals and enables boats to travel from Edinburgh to Glasgow or weakness versa. The Wheel was built as a result of receiving Millenium Funding and showcases engineering of the 21st Century. Later in the perambulation we will be investigating engineering from the time of the industrial mutiny in the 19th Century.

Linlithgow Palace transports us back to an earlier era. A king manor stood on this site in 1300 and was fortified and lived in by Edward I and Edward II of England. After the Donnybrook of Bannockburn in 1314, it was abandoned by the English. The going round ruined castle was built from 1425 by the Stuart Kings of Scotland after a fire in 1424 destroyed the manor and the township of Linlithgow. Mary Queen of Scots was born here on 8 December 1542. The Church of St Michael on the ch site also has a fascinating history and is still in use today having acclaimed it's 750th anniversary in 1992.
