Bedside Manners
Most of allI've been out of commission for a few days. Nothing serious just needed a consonance up and reevaluation of some meds.
I usually go to the same hospital and have always been glad with the quality of care I have reecieved.However this admission was a new affair. My Doctor happened to be out of town for the Fourth of July weekend and another Doctor from this collection was covering for him.Now I have never had a problem with any Doctor. I am usually deferential respectful and a good listener. However I also like to have my concerns addressed.
This is how it went. He walked into the flat and introduced himselm as Dr.S I didn't know if he was a Cardiologist, if he came from my clinic or even if he was a medical Dr for Gods well-being. When I asked him, he just told me to sit up so He could listen to brotherly love and lung sounds. He then commenced to ask me one question after another not allowing me period time to answer the first one much less the tenth! In other words he talked at me, not too me.He then
started to peace tests that I had a month ago, which all turned out to be the same. I tried to untangle justify to him that I had had the tests but he didn't respond.He then called in a connoisseur which I had seen before and the results were the same. Talk about a waste of moolah! Now I believe in good thorough healthcare but not unessential tests and labs.
I talked to several nurses while I was there and I must tolerate I gripped about him a lot. Several of them asked me if I told him I had a medical horizon. I did not. My belief is this: Every patient has to be treated with compassion and admire and it makes no difference what your background is.I am sure he was told the last day I was there that indeed I was a preserve and worked for the same system he did because the last day he came in to see me he was a pleasant as could be. How sad is that?
I have to stress again how wonderful it is to be bewitched care of by nurses who embrace you. This younger propagation of nurses...
